Fertilize to help minimize winter kill on your lawn! Winter can be a damaging time for your lawn. Winter and Lawn

Winter Damage:

Wind, ice, and scalping from plowing can cause the most serious damage to the turf. Also extreme temperatures, and freeze/thaw conditions damage the turf by injuring the sensitive crown of the plant. If winter-kill occurs from these conditions, recovery may take longer than expected.
Winters can be unpredictable and may put your lawn through any of the winter-kill conditions. The best thing to do is to make sure the grass has been fertilized properly, monitoring the weather, and deal with these conditions as they occur.
